Jean and I hit the ground running once we landed in San Juan. Hermandad started giving to those we serve. On Tuesday, January 13th. Colegio Bautista de Caguas received $2,000 to help with teacher continuing education. In the afternoon, we had our first visit to the Institute of Family Guidance and Therapy, Inc. (INOTEF). They are a non-profit organization in Caguas, Puerto Rico focused on psychosocial services, therapy, and family support. Recipients include children, adolescents, adults, and families with psychological or psychosocial support needs. We gave INOTEF a first time $5,000 donation to support their good work.
While Jean and I felt great joy as we heard the many thanks from our recipients, we share their tears of joy with you. As our faithful partners, your continued support for Hermandad’s mission and vision made these gifts possible. With each new trip to Puerto Rico, we add new recipients. All of us enjoy the dividends of the work you make possible.
Though a young nonprofit born in 2019, you have embraced our mission and vision. Whether after Hurricane Fiona, during COVID, or after the earthquakes, many of you joined us early and stayed onboard. Your support allows us to include special projects with each trip.
As we continue our work, we meet and make new friends and supporters. They have joined you in recognizing the importance of stepping up to help in these uncertain times. It takes many to do the the needed work. Hermandad receives each donation with thanks reaching out to give more. We still have more to do. Come journey with us.
