Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Growth, Gratitude, and New Partnerships for Hermandad

As 2024 draws to a close, I want to thank all of you who have in various ways joined us on our Hermandad journey. Jean and I have assessed many needs during our Puerto Rican trips allowing us to develop more contacts and resources to help. Your choosing to journey with us has made starting our sixth year possible. In the past five years, Hermandad’s greatest partner has been Corporación Milagros del Amor (CorMA). Their work touched our hearts and their knowledge has helped us learn the needs and respond.

In January, we underwrote a lunch for the homeless for a Three Kings’ Day celebration. They provided us with the connections to Colegio Bautista de Caguas allowing us to present three annual leadership and service scholarships, assist two science students to attend the International Science Fair in Los Angeles and provide a $2,000 grant to the National Federation of the Blind for supplies and scholarships to attend the National Conference in Florida. Ever striving to embrace of our mission, Hermandad has added Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico as an entity we help.

Our successes come from all who have supported and encouraged us. Hermandad’s mission to“create awareness of the ongoing needs of Puerto Rican citizens addressing emergency needs and ensuring youth have post secondary opportunities to make Puerto Rico an affordable choice where they can live” continues.

My greatest joy has centered on witnessing how so many have joined with us to fulfill our mission. Whether donating physical items, attending fundraisers, or providing financial gifts throughout the year, thank you for your faith and sustaining support as we journey together.
