MEET THE MUSICIANS

David Garcia Bio Image

David Garcia, Pianist

David Garcia began playing the piano at age 11. His first piano teacher was Laura Garvin with whom he studied Suzuki Book 1 and completed it in 4 months. His second piano teacher was Stephanie Oshry. During his studies with her, he received outstanding grades in piano exams. David then moved on to the Peabody Preparatory studying with Amy Killian. He has received Adult Achievement Awards from the Peabody Preparatory multiple times. David performs in the Adult Continuing Education Recitals at Peabody. Additionally, he has played the piano at nursing homes, holiday parties, weddings, and fundraisers including one benefiting Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. In 2019, David was a second-place winner in the American Protégé Competition of Romanic Music and performed at Carnegie Hall. David works for Omni Eye Specialists as a testing technician and enjoys checking patients. In his free time, he enjoys working out at the gym, spending time with family and friends, telling jokes, and eating at a variety of restaurants.

Kathleen Hackett, Vocalist

Kathleen is a first year student at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, in the studio of Ah Young Hong. She has been performing since the age of 6, and has a passion for uplifting people through the arts. Previous credits include: Les Misérables (Gavroche), A Pirates Life for Me (Dandy), The Screwtape Letters, Carousel, Oliver! (The Artful Dodger), Fiddler on the Roof (Yenta the Matchmaker), The King and I (Anna Leonowens), The Crucible (Mary Warren), My Fair Lady (Mrs. Higgins), Godspell (Celisse), Camelot, Annie (Miss Hannigan), as well as participating in the St. Philomena Apostolate choir for 6 years. 

Mary-Stanton-Bio-Image

Miss Mary Stanton, Pianist

A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Miss Stanton has concertized on five continents as piano soloist, accompanist and chamber musician, appearing frequently with orchestra and on radio and television.

Miss Stanton has served on the Piano faculties of the Hartt College of Music in Connecticut, Miami University of Ohio, and Northwestern University in Chicago. She has conducted extended Piano Master Classes in Israel, Indonesia and Brazil.

After teaching Religion at Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville, Maryland, for twenty-two years, Miss Stanton currently serves as Organist and Music Director at St. Clare Catholic Church, in Essex, and as part of the Accompanying staff at Peabody Preparatory School. She was formerly Music Director at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, and Organist at St. Alphonsus Shrine, and continues to play at various churches throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
